Saying "Hey Wobo"
On an adult account, "Hey Wobo" wakes Wobo hands-free. Two words. On a learner account under 18 there is no wake word at all. Hold the orb instead, which works everywhere.
You do not need it to use Wobo. Tapping the orb or typing works everywhere, and on most screens it is faster.
Where the phrase helps is when your hands are busy: a pen in one hand, a page in the other, a diagram half solved on the screen. Say "Hey Wobo, why is this one negative" and Wobo answers on the screen you are looking at.
How listening works
- Hold to talk is the default and always available. Press and hold the orb, or long-press it on a phone, speak, and let go.
- On a laptop there is a keyboard shortcut for the same thing, shown on You, under Settings.
- Wobo is never always-listening for a learner under 18. The microphone opens when you hold the button and closes when you let go. There is no wake word running in the background on a child's account.
- On an adult account you can turn hands-free listening on from You, under Settings, if you want it. It is off until you do.
If Wobo mishears you
Say it again in fewer words, or type it. Wobo also reads whatever is on the screen, so "why is this negative" usually works better than a long, careful sentence.
