History and Civics, ICSE class 9
The longest of the six syllabuses this year, and the one that puts the machinery of government beside the history that produced it. Eleven of them, and they stand on these pages in the Council's own words and order.

Is this two subjects or one?
One paper, two habits of mind, and the children who treat it as one subject usually lose marks in the civics half. History wants a cause and a consequence; civics wants a definition and an example. Wobo answers each in its own shape, and will say which of the two a given question is really asking for.
