Middle school science begins as a set of things you can look at: what food is made of, what materials do, how a plant is put together, how a magnet behaves. The explanations stay close to the object.
CBSE class 6 sets one chapter of science, 12 topics between them. It is Curiosity, Grade 6.

Is it enough to memorise the answers at this stage?
It works for a term and stops working after that. The chapters here are the ones later years quietly assume, and a definition remembered without the reason behind it does not survive being asked a slightly different way.
