Mathematics, CBSE class 8
Rational numbers, linear equations in one variable, quadrilaterals and the first serious exponents. Much of it looks like last year with the difficulty turned up, and the difference is that the reasoning is now expected to be written down.
CBSE class 8 sets two chapters of maths, 14 topics between them. They are Ganita Prakash, Grade 8, Part 1 and Ganita Prakash, Grade 8, Part 2.

How much working should a child be showing?
Enough that somebody reading it can follow the argument without asking a question. That is the actual standard, and it is also why marks go missing when the answer is right. Wobo writes the working line by line as it solves, so what a full solution looks like is on the screen rather than described.
