Is it a physics problem or a maths problem when a child gets stuck?
It is worth finding out, because the two need different help. Not knowing which equation the situation calls for is physics; knowing it and not being able to rearrange it is mathematics. Wobo draws the free-body diagram first, out loud, before a single symbol is written, which usually makes the answer to that question obvious.
