Chemistry, CBSE class 11
Structure of the atom, periodicity, bonding, equilibrium, and the first organic chemistry. Three chemistries are running at once here and they are usually taught in parallel, which is what makes the year feel crowded.
CBSE class 11 sets 9 chapters of chemistry, 66 topics between them.
Chapters
- Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry10 topics
- Structure of Atom6 topics
- Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties6 topics
- Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure8 topics
- Thermodynamics5 topics
- Equilibrium14 topics
- Redox Reactions4 topics
- Organic Chemistry – Some Basic Principles and Techniques9 topics
- Hydrocarbons4 topics
Why does organic chemistry feel like a completely different subject?
Because it is one. Physical chemistry is arithmetic with a story attached, inorganic is largely pattern, and organic is a set of mechanisms that only make sense as movement. Wobo animates a mechanism arrow by arrow on the board and narrates why the electrons go where they go, which is not a thing a still diagram can do.
